The United Way’s mission and credo “Live United” serves as a constant reminder that when we as individuals think outside ourselves, we have the power to facilitate change. The United Way of Colquitt County works closely with over 20 local agencies that serve as frontline help for citizens in need.
The United Way of Colquitt County uses a three pillar approach to tackle our communities needs. The three pillars are Education, Health and Economic Stability. Our approach to education spans from cradle to career. We strive to ensure that every child gets a strong start in life, teenagers have the tools they need to learn and grow, and young adults thrive in today’s job market. The United Way approaches health issues by promoting healthy eating and physical activity, expanding access to quality health care and integrating health into early childhood development. Our approach to Economic Stability stems from access to services, job training, credit counseling and money management programs resulting in a financially literate and empowered citizen.
